  1. £100 of less for one week's accommodation in London is almost unheard of. I would have thought you are probably looking at spending that per night at least. However! I would recommend the following:

    1) Do you have any friends you could stay with who live in London?

    2) Youth hostels are a cheap way of travelling, although you'll possibly still need to spend more than £100. Go to www.yha.org.uk for details but be aware, you'll probably be sharing rooms and facilfities with other travellers.

    3) You could try www.easyjethotels.net who do tiny rooms and facilities

    4) Have you considered what you would like to do/see whilst you are in London? It may be that you could stay in the outskirts of London which would be cheaper than the city centre.

    Hope this helps!

  2. £100 for a week's accommodation in London between two of you isn't going to cover even hostel stays.

The only way you could stay within that budget would be by joining Couchsurfing.

This is a worldwide network of people who enjoy meeting people through travel, and who offer when at home to let people 'surf their couch' (stay on their sofa or in their spare room.) No one takes any money -- it's all done voluntarily.

    http://www.couchsurfing.com

As you'll be a new member, with no record of references or contacts with other Couchsurfers, it's really important that you both write full profiles of yourselves on the Couchsurfing site, with photos of you. You can sign up together as a a couple.

Next, get 'verified' to at least Level 2 (see my explanation below). This is the only way you can show that you are who you say you are.

Then you look through some of the London host members (there are around 6,000) and write a few of them a request. Make these requests individual letters: remember, you're asking for an invitation to someone's home. =)

Verification is a three-stage process. Level 1 is pretty meaningless on its own; you just 'lock' your real name (visible only to administrators, not to the public) -- promising that this your real name.

Level 2 verification: you give a donation by credit card to Couchsurfing. For UK members, it's about £11. The money goes towards the upkeep of the site, and the donation proves that your name is linked to a real credit card.

Level 3: Once the donation is received, Couchsurfing sends a letter to you, to the billing address on the credit card, with a code in it. Key in the code and you're fully verified.

It's a wonderful way of travelling. Even if you decide not to stay with anyone, there are lots of social events which are good for making friends and exploring London.

If your budget can stretch further, it's worth looking at the Youth Hostels Association (YHA). They have seven nice hostels in London and hundreds more across the country.

My favourite of the London ones is St Paul's, in the heart of the old City of London, near St Paul's Cathedral. They do have a few double bedrooms there, although I'd expect them to be booked by now.

Accommodation costs around £16 each a night -- if you become a YHA member, which I'd recommend. That's really, really cheap for anywhere in England, let alone London. But it still comes to more than £200 for your stay.

Link here for St Paul's: http://www.yha.org.uk/find-accommodation...

Hope that's helpful. Best of luck. =D

  3. Depends where you want to stay in London-it's a big place!

£100 for two nights is stretching it a bit if you want somewhere decent.

I've stayed in the hotel California near Kings Cross before and found it quite good value for the money with a good central location.

Check Trip advisor-a great site for reading reviews of hotels and checking prices-though I think a lot of people give unfair reviews of places.

Hope you have a great time!

  4. hmm have you tried travel lodges?

there reasonable but most don't have restaurants or breakfast in, they could in london though

    also holiday inns?

i think there a little more pricey though

thats a weekend in a ramada jarvis, all you need is 50 brit trip points, which is basilly about £3 worth of crisps

    (also 15% off dining)

i would reccomend you considered that

if you shop at tescos and collect point you can transfer the points into money spent of family days out, restaurants, accomodation

twice a year 4 of us go for a weekend in marriots on those with food and a day trip(las time we went to the beatles museum) so thats well worth it too, i think sainsburys do it and Asda too

  5. Assuming you are talking about £100 per day, and you want a central London location, there is a small walk-up hotel next to the Charing Cross train station that is £98 per day for a double room and private bath. There is very few places for that rate in the summer (in the center).

The seven dials hotel is £85 a night. The Fielding Hotel has a twin for £105. Keep in mind that these are very tiny hotels.

    -------------------

Less centrally located, in Bloomsbury are more options. Imperial hotels is a collection of six low cost hotels. The very cheapest is the County at £42 per night with one bathroom for every four bedrooms.

    -------------------

Dumil Backpackers Hotel is about £140 for a double room for a week. I don't think there exists a cheaper place where you wouldn't be risking your life.
