With Tottenham Hotspur still interested in him, Loic Remy may still be leaving http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 when the summer transfer window opens
Earlier this year, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 have contacted him but revealed that he does not want to leave Olympique de Marseille so soon.
“I’ve said, I’m not ready to go for now. Sure, there are offers, especially in England, but I do not feel that that I have done a full season in Marseille. I had a good first half (of the campaign), but the injuries have chained my sense of unfulfilled duty.
Going like this is not right,” said the striker last week.
However, the striker seems to have revised his position a week later. British media claims that English Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur are set to return their attentions towards the striker when the summer transfer window opens.
Earlier in January, Spurs did approach Marseille with a 24 million Euros offer for the striker which the Ligue 1 side rejected.
Following a 3-0 win over Auxerre last night, Remy put his future at the club in doubt by saying that he will consider his future at the club after the European Championships are finished.
“Right now, I’m here. I have no other prospects for the future. There happens to be Euro. If I do well, it can open doors for me. But for now, I don’t want to talk about this stuff.”
The striker’s recent statements clearly mean that he will be open to a departure. Tottenham might not have the services of Adebayor for next season so the Londoners will try snapping up Loic Remy who is a great replacement for the Togolese striker.
Furthermore, Olympique de Marseille would also consider letting go of the former Nice man considering their financial situation. Les Phoceens will not be playing in the Champions League next season and can’t expect a financial windfall from UEFA.
Moreover, the club’s rebuilding process starts this summer and only player sale would help the club close deals for their targets. A good performance at the Euros would also be great for Marseille as it would put them in a great bargaining position.
