Doug Bollinger, Simon Katich declare themselves fit for Ashes
There was good news for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 at Mohali, with a
stomach muscle tear, has said that he felt 100% fit and should be ready for the first Ashes Test match that starts from November 25.
Speaking to the media at the end of his net session, Bollinger said he felt 100% fit and had a good time bowling in the nets. He said, "I'm 100% mate, 100%. Feeling good, 100 per cent everything. All of the above."
And it was not only Bollinger who seemed to have recovered from his injury issues. Simon Katich, who had also injured himself on the tour of India and did not play in any first class matches after that looks to be on his way to recovery. Katich, who opens the
innings with Shane http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tasmania-c854.
Speaking to the Australian, Katich said, “The thumb is feeling good. I saw the hand specialist yesterday. It's coming along nicely. It feels a lot better than it was.”
The Australian selectors will name the side for the first Test match against England and the return to fitness of Bollinger and Katich should make their job easier. If both do manage to win favour from the selectors, then nine of the playing eleven should have
picked themselves. The selectors will need to discuss with the skipper Ricky Ponting over the composition of the remaining two – Marcus North versus either Usman Khwaja or Callum Ferguson and the selection of the fourth bowler, whether it needs to be a spinner
or a pace bowler.
