Doug Bollinger feels CSK need to work on their middle order batting – Cricket News Update
Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) fast bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Cape-Cobras-c776 during the 9th Champions League (CL) Twenty20 (T20)
match, on September 28, 2011.
The Australian speedster conceded that with the current situation in the middle-order, the team will not achieve wins with big margins.
During his post match comments, following Wednesday’s game, Bollinger remarked about improving the team’s middle order, stating “Definitely. We’ve got things to work on.”
“We’d love to win every game by 50 runs but it's not going to happen. Some of the Indian players have been away for a long time and we're all trying to gel. Getting out of jail (by Dwayne Bravo) is not a bad thing,” he added.
During Wednesday’s bout, the Chennai outfit took on a competitive chase of 146, posted by the Cape Cobras.
However, for CSK, trouble came after its top order batsmen, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/M-Vijay-c1867, marked their dismissals in the 5th and 6th overs, leaving the team’s middle order to take on the target.
Failing to do so, with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/WP-Saha-c2800 and Raina departed in quick succession.
Much thanks to CSK’s lower order player http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Bravo-c1379, as the all-rounder finally aided the team to mark a win as the match see-sawed till the final over, with just 2 balls remaining.
As for the team’s upcoming fixtures, Bollinger also revealed that he is looking forward to CSK’s October 4 match, against the bowler’s former side, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823.
“It'll be interesting to play against them, they are a good side, but any information I give Chennai will be good information but we're just going to worry about our game,” said Bollinger.
Having won just a single game from two CLT20 outings, CSK are scheduled to face the Caribbean side, Trinidad & Tobago, in the side’s third Group A match, which kicks off on October 2, 2011, in Chennai.
