Doug Bollinger pumped up for the clash against South Australia
They say a fast bowler is at his best when he is fummed up. That's exactly what New South Wales would be hoping from the Australian international, Doug Bollinger. After getting axed for The Ashes series, Bollinger is pumped up for the clash against South
Australia. After being dropped for the 3rd Test Match, he wants to prove a point on Sunday when http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Australia-c844, in sydney.
New South Wales’s coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Matthew-Mott-c1928 was glad at Bollinger’s attitude, and said “he was trying to be positive after getting dropped from the squad, and he is fired up to prove a point.” He further commented on this scenario, "If he (Bollinger) starts bowling
well for us then down the track he will get another opportunity.” New South Wales will play the one day without their expert batsman Phil Hughes, and all-rounder Steven Smith. Both of these players got a call for the 3rd test match of the Ashes
series, to be played in Perth.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Daniel-Smith-c1313 will replace Steven Smith. Further commenting on the shuffling of his team, Mott said "The guys coming in are quality players, Usman Khawaja,
a guy that we really want to see a lot more of, especially in the one-day format and Dan Smith gets a chance after some great runs in club cricket. I am very excited with that."
Bollinger, who played in the Adelaide Test match last week, was unable to impress the selectors with his rather lacklustre performance. In the first and the only innings that England batted in, Bollinger bowled 29 overs and got one wicket at an expense of
130 runs. His only wicket was his 3rd delivery for the match, where he cleaned up England captain, Andrew Strauss.
With this one day match, Bollinger will be thinking about an expected come back, considering the fact, premier fast bowlers for Australia are injured or out of form. If he can perform for his local team, he can certainly be picked for the remaining Ashes
series and the world cup.
