Dougie Flutie is awesome, think about a guy that short taking all that punishment.  He went from Hail Mary to Holy Cow in a short time. HOF for sure (Canadian)

Even though I have nothing against CFL players proving themselves in the CFL and heading to the NFL, I think after Doug's Buffalo days, he should have come back to the CFL. He would have been a super-star in the CFL again, unlike in the NFL where he was just another average QB.

Personally I think it's hard to argue that the best CFL QB is Damon Allen.

Flutie was a great QB, but Warren Moon (Esks), with his passing and running game, lead Edmonton to 5 straight grey Cups.  Warren is the man.

I think we all can agree on one thing: while Doug Flutie may not get into the Pro (read: NFL) Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, he's a carved-in-stone lock to be inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame on his first opportunity. And his brother Darren might get there too, as a receiver.

Flutie isn't the "man" are far as a great QB. But he definitely played like a man's man. I thought he was underused in San Diego and somewhat in Buffalo. Even though he only got in a few games with the Pats, it was still cool to finally see him get his ring. He'll always be mostly remembered for his hail mary against Miami. They stil make commercials with that footage to this day. Also, the drop-kick extra point was cool.

We can get into a Damon Allen vs Doug Flutie arguement if you want.  While Allen is a fine QB, he is nothing like Flutie was in the CFL.  As mentioned above Flutie holds several CFL passing records such as; most passing yardss in one season (he's 1st and third with 6619 yrds and 6092) Most compleations in a season (again 1st and 3rd) Most TD passes in a season (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)   And while he is slightly behind Allen in Carrer yards (Allen 41,730 - Flutie 41,355) Flutie put those numbers up in 7 YEARS, its taken Allen 22 season to get there.
