The Rod Millman-trained grey gelding marvellously accomplished a classic conquest in his second last start on May 24, 2012. This was the Betfair Sponsors The Owners & Trainers Bar Handicap that was held at Salisbury.
Despite being a non-favourite runner, the maverick horse convincingly defeated 13 competitors to break his maiden.
The brilliant son of Clodovil out of Lucky Date nicely clinched runner-up rank in his last start on June 14. These two outstanding performances have boosted up the gelding’s morale to a great extent.
At the moment, Dovils Date is carrying immense impetus that will help him lift the ace title of the Beck Handicap.
In today’s mega marathon, the momentous horse will compete against seven strong rivals such as Gold Sceptre, Tidy Affair, Tidal Way, Ultimate Destiny, Chrissycross, Opus, Attraction Ticket and Chocolat Chaud.
On the soft track of 1 mile, 2 furlongs and 7 yards, Dovils Date will unleash an electric pace while pursuing the price cheque worth £2,588.
Among the other runners, Ultimate Destiny is likely to fight hard for success. The Ralph Beckett-trained bay gelding elegantly finished first in his last outing on June 5, 2012.
While running against 14 rivals, the novice horse emphatically lifted the title of Smooth Radio Handicap at Leicester course.
The son of Hurricane Run out of Shallika started his career with 6th position on March 24, 2012. Overall, he has four starts to his name.
There is expected to be a tough tug of war between Ultimate Destiny and Dovils Date.
Chrissycross will also be able to perform well today. The Roger Teal-trained bay filly’s last victory came on December 10, 2011. She moved on to get a 7th and a 4th position in two consecutive races during May 2012.
In this situation, there will be a rip-roaring clash at Sandown. The event will attract many spectators to the venue. Good luck to all the contestants.
