ive been reading up a lot on adopting Down's syndrome children, and im wondering someone can point me in the right direction of blogs of people who have adopted more than one Down's syndrome child, and how the bonding process is different from adopting a child with average mentality. i need accounts of people actually living these lives, not technical information or people's opinions. more specifically,im looking into overseas adoption of Down's syndrome children. can anyone help?

  1. I can't remember which site it was, but if you search online international adoptions sites, many of them have real life stories of people who have adopted, including those who have adopted special needs children and blogs.  I read some recently on a site about adopting from China. I believe the link I found was this site:

    http://www.adoptivefamilies.com/china_ad...

  2. Reece Rainbow is an organization that speciallizes in placing DS children from many different countries. They work hand in hand with agencies that have DS children on their waiting lists.

They also help with getting grants to defray costs. The closer the children are to being transferred to those scary institutions, the higher the grants can be. These people really care!

Also there are Yahoo groups with people adopting children domestically and internationally with SN's including DS.

I am in "adopting hard to place children". You can also search on yahoo groups for DS related groups.

I hope to adopt DS as well someday. Good luck

  3. not sure, but i guess u could do a google search. But, there are hundreds of downs children lookin for for forever familys in the country you live, why not give one of those the loving family they deserve? The bond wouldnt b much different, a child is a child and they all deserve and respond to love in there own way x*x
