Down Royal bringing mega entertainment in shape of JNwine.com Champion Chase
Horseracing is nonstop entertaining, and it will continue in November as well. Although many venues are staging plenty of big meetings on the first weekend of new month, the focus will be on the Grade 1, JNwine.com Champion Chase, taking place at Down Royal
on November 3rd.
Only top quality runners will survive in this, because stamina is the key. Travelling three miles at good pace is no easy task for any horse. So, every participant will have to be on top of his game in order to thrive in this high profile event. Almost every
famous trainer in Ireland has representation in this contest.
Sizing Europe is likely to miss the meeting, as the connections may go for other options. The 10-year-old veteran recorded his 16th win at the start of October, when sealing an easy 7½-length triumph in the Grade 2, PWC Champion Chase at Gowran
Park .
The Henry De Bromhead-trained has been performing brilliantly since the start of this season, and won three of the previous four outings. His camp is also happy with the current momentum.
After a straightforward win at Gowran Park, the handler shared: "I'm delighted with that. I felt he was a bit scratchy but he's like that on his first run every year. He nearly fell a few times here last year.”
"There are three races to consider for him in November. The three-miler in Down Royal (JNwine.com Champion Chase), the Fortria Chase at Navan or a conditions race at Cheltenham.”
"We'll try to space it out, so we'll run in one of them and then something at Christmas. He's so good at two miles, two and a half miles and two and three quarters, but three miles, I just don't know.”
In Sizing Europe’s absence, Quito De La Roque will be the one to watch out for. The 8-year-old did a lot of goods last year, winning five consecutive races. Bob Lingo is also aiming to fancy some chances. Trained by Thomas Mullins, the son of Bob’s Return
has secured three wins so far this season, and holds potential for more.
The heat is going up with every passing second, as every horse is gearing up to do wonders. It will be no surprise, if an exciting event takes place.
