Travel the world.  Yes, I know there are children with Down's Syndrome, and other unfortunate children starving in Africa. But I am not going to stop living. And what are YOU doing to help children with Down's Syndrome?

More important with regard to what?  The two things are mutually exclusive.  Parent's of a child with an illness or development challenge can also travel the world.
