http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stewart-Downing-c34221 has admitted that his first season at Liverpool has been a mixed one, but he is looking to develop some consistency in the future, as he looks to settle down at the club.
Downing went on to join Liverpool from Aston Villa at the start of the season and the winger was expected to come in and help out the club tremendously.
However, with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international failing to impress for the Reds, his appearances for the club have started to fluctuate dramatically.
As a result, Downing feels that the constant mix ups in his appearances for the club have left him a little confused, but that he has complete faith in Kenny Dalglish and expects the manager to do what’s best for him.
Despite not impressing from his very first game for Liverpool, Downing has admitted that the would like to settle down at the club and make his way up the pecking order.
When talking about his debut season at Anfield and the problems that he has been facing, Downing is quoted to have said: “It’s been a bit up and down”
“Some good games, some indifferent ones.”
"I have been on the bench sometimes, whereas at other clubs I’ve been used to playing every week more or less.”

“That’s been hard to get used to. It’s been a little bit of a culture shock almost, but I have adapted to that and you just have to be ready when you get called upon to play.”

“I expected pressure, but I didn’t expect it to be as big as it has been. You are under the microscope every day. In every game, people are looking at you.”
At the moment, Downing is no longer a first choice player at Anfield. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Craig-Bellamy-c9471, who was brought in to be a back up to Downing, has gone on to claim a spot in the starting eleven for himself, as his performances have been outstanding all season long.
It is now up to Downing to prove his worth every time he steps onto the pitch, or he’s going to have to wait to get his chance only when Bellamy ends up getting injured or leaving the club.
