Liverpool winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stewart-Downing-c34221, revealed his longing of serving out his deal with the Reds, despite being accused by Brendan Rodgers for showing lack of commitment.
The English International has undergone a troubled spell at Anfield, since his 20 million pounds move from Aston Villa last summer.
In his 56 appearances for the Merseyside outfit, the 28-year old has only managed to score 3 goals and pick up 5 assists.
His lack of penetration upfront forced Rodgers into involving him in a more defensive role, in order to adjust him in his plans.
However, Downing has struggled to come to grips with the Ulsterman’s playing philosophy and has, hence, being pushed to the bench. The manager now prefers to start with the juvenile Andre Wisdom, who has been nothing short of exceptional in the last couple
of games.
With the club’s hungry youngsters stepping up to the plate, Rodgers earlier warned Downing and Jose Enrique to up their game, or else, risk losing their places in the team.
Despite his future now being marred by uncertainty in the wake of the Northern Irishman’s remarks, the winger revealed that he has got no plans of pursuing a career elsewhere.

“I've got three years left on my contract and I'm going nowhere,” he told the reporters in an interview.
“I have worked hard to get here and I am not going to leave in a rush. I will fight for my place and I want to stay at Anfield. Bravery is a lot of things – it's not just about tackling. That's not my game.”
“My bravery is about taking the ball when you are losing a game and trying to create things. That's what I try to do. You will have to ask the manager exactly what he meant.”
Nonetheless, despite being disappointed by Rodgers’ comments, the player vowed to give it his all to stake his claim in the team, and insisted that he carried no grudge against his boss.
