Download - asks to disable firewall?

Question

There's a software site where I download games, but if I have my firewall up, the site complains that it cannot allow the download as it cannot verify something and I should please disable firewall. Can you trust these sites and why does it complain about the firewall?

It all depends on the site. You can trust them, but I suggest scanning everytime you download a game. If they contain viruses, trojans, etc. Then put your firewall back up and uninstall all content from the site.

negative - any application that asks for a firewall to come down is harboring some kind of back door virus. I would be very caustious in allowing that to happen
