Question:

Downloaded Enthernet Drivers but... ?

OK, I've download all possible drivers for the ethernet adapter for my HP Compac nc6120 laptop.

I hooked up the ethernet cable to the laptop and the modem, and it still won't connect to the internet.

There are some drivers for a modem, but I haven't downloaded those yet. Should I download those?

And what is the underlying problem? I mean, I check the LAN connection and it says its connected through the Net 1394 Adapter.

Please help... 10pts to best answer-Thanks!

  1. There are two available drivers for your wired lan.

As stated before the 1394 Adapter is your firewire not your lan.  If it does not show in network connections then it probably means that the drivers are not install.  Check in device manager under network adapters.

  2. 1394 is your Firewire jack.  Make sure your ethernet adapter is enabled.  (And you should be able to see which adapter you have, either in Device Manager, or by taking off a panel on the bottom and looking at the adapter.)

  3. Ohhh you will get variety of ethernet card drivers free at http://downloadnext.blogspot.com/
