Downloaded some video from my camcorder and wondering how many DVDs I'll need when I burn it?

4 hours of stuff and it's taken something like 35 gigs off my hard drive, wondering if the data will be compressed when I burn to disc so I won't need a bunch of DVD discs. Kind of new to this stuff.

  2. Video DVDs are highly compressed, so you don't need 35Gbyte of DVDs  (8 of them).   Assuming that you plan to put all 4 hours on DVD you could possibly get away with 2, though 4 would be more realistic (opinions about video quality vary!).

    But, if you've got raw, unedited video, you should assume that 90% of it is either unwatchable or unnecessary.  After editing, you're likely to end up with  less than half an hour of watchable video - that'll easily fit on a single DVD.
