Downloading Custom files for Sims 2 on a Vista Computer?

Okay I've tried the sims 2 file maid.

and i used WinRAR and i unzipped the files

and tried to drag them but it wouldn't let me put it down on the lawn.

So i unistalled it and installed the Sims 2 clean pack installer and thats

not working either.

Can somebody please help me to understand how to safely

download custom files and put them in the right place.
