Downloading from camcorder to laptop?

I have a firewire cable with camcorder but no place to put other end in laptop.Can i do something with expansion port 2??

Most computers have firewire, but owners don't realize they do because standard Firewire has 4 names and 2 port sizes.

Be sure to check your entire laptop.  The port will be a single port near the USB ports.  It could be the large 6-pin or the small 4-pin.   The port could also be marked as IEEE 1394, Firewire, DV Port, or i.Link (or with the lower case letter i).

If you are sure you do not have it there are a multitude of PCMCIA and express cards that allow you to add a Firewire port.

No problem - just check whether your laptop uses PCMCIA or Express cards and then you can buy a suitable firewire card.  They're all much the same, so you don't need an expensive brand name.  Firewire ports can be either 4 pin or 6 pin - the camcorder will have a 4 pin but the card could be 4 or 6 (probably 6) so make sure you have the right cable.
