Downloading mp3 files from my computer

I'm not sure I got the mod. # right. Sorry, Ive temporarily misplaced the manual. It's a 1 GB mp3 player I bought before Christmas on sale, as a discontinued model, I'm sure. I can't find how to download mp3 files from my computer. the manual doesn't seem to tell me. I plug in the USB cord but am not sure what to do after that.
