Downloading photos from a digital camera

Question

When I cut the plastic packaging around the camera (not knowing that a CD was stored within the camera packaging) I cut the CD software to download the photos. My son has since taken photos on the camera and we are unable to download them to my computer - how do we get the photos off the camera without the software disk that was provided?
