Doxycycline?

I have been taking doxycycline tablets but i need to take the contaceptive pill-I read on the internet its will be less effective at the fact i have been taking doxy! How less effective will it be? I know that the pill is 99 percent worakble but what r the odds now..

  1. Id give a call to the  pharmacist - they are very informative on all medications and can definitely help with counteracting drugs if u cant get in touch with ur dr.

  2. 1st answer - stop sha*gging about or use a condom. Which i am assuming that your taking doxycycline for a STI or something similar.

    It may affect the working of the combined oral contraceptive pill though of course you are strongly advised not to have s*x until the infection has cleared.

    Also patients on a combined oral contraceptive pill who are prescribed Doxycycline for malaria need to take additional contraceptive measures, at least for the first month.

    Abstinence before marriage is probably your best bet!
