people working in cotton feilds in inda work for 13hrs and only earn 60p !!! thay could be aged 7+

I do not care what the workers make. I do not care what the companies make for profit. I care only about getting a low price for commodities that I am purchasing.

Life is not fair. If an employer can find a willing worker for 5 cents a day, that is what the job is worth. If no one will do the job for that, the employer will have to pay more.

I will not pay one cent extra for the same item to be "fair " to the worker!

Yes, I try to buy as many fairtrade things as possible.

Yes and I always try and buy Fairtrade products. There's no real reason not to with my local Co-op store because their Fairtrade products are actually cheaper than branded products.

I've also discovered that Fairtrade stuff, like coffee, tastes just as good as the more expensive brands too!

I love fair trade chocolate/hot chocolate in my cafeteria they are the same price as the normal stuff so i would always buy it, I'm a student though so i don't spend much on food shopping i usually by the v cheap things if i can afford it though i will buy fair trade in the future.

Yeah, but what is that worth in Rupees and adjusted for the cost of living?

I find their tea and coffee to be unpalatable, but I buy Fair Trade Indian wood products from time to time.  Those are usually of nice quality and attractive.

Mmm? I know what you mean, I've thought the same. I like to support fair trade....I buy the coffee and the chocolate ...which in my world....are life's essentials :)

I've been told the growers etc get "checked out" before contracts are signed and trade begins...if you hear different it would be interesting to know.
