  1. He seems to be very strongly recommending soy products and seems to be unaware that soy products do actually have some negatives as well as numerous benefits.  For example, soy products hinder the absorption of zinc by as much as 50% and to a lesser extent they also hinder the absorption of iron and to a much smaller extent they also hinder the absorption of calcium and magnesium.  Providing that you are aware of these negatives soy products are very healthy.

If you want to know his views on soy products you can find them in a web search for "andrew weil" + soy.

  2. ...And exactly what is your question? Are you asking about his stand on soy?

If so, I did a quick search on his site and came up with the following hits:

    http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/id/QAA326575

    http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/QAA400308/is...

    http://weilpod.com/2007/09/28/soy-contro...

Check these out and you should get a good idea about it. Otherwise, you could add to your question to give us more detail.

  3. I think he's wrong and unaware of the dangers of unfermented soy.  Most of the arguments he uses for that fact aren't that well done (have fallacies).

I've done tons of research on this, and I've found completely different information that what he's claiming.

If you want to change this question into a debate about soy, I'd be happy to give a more detailed response on why I think it's bad.
