Dr Disco gradually climbing up the ladder and will be favoured in the Toboggan Stakes
The 3-year-old colt, Dr Disco had been working very hard at races to capture one of the races he participates in and there was proof in the Posse Hudson Belmont Park on 22 October, 2011, where he rapped hard on the door with a runner up finish to winner
General Maximus, who covered the six furlong dash in 1 minute and 9.58 seconds.
Joe DiRico’s talented three-year-old homebred Dr Disco finally got over his stakes woes and captured one in style when he landed his first stakes win at Aqueduct race track on 4 November, 2011, in the Vodka Stakes where he was sent off as the narrow second
choice.
Now the 3-year-old Bruce R. Brown trained colt is likely to be pointed toward the Grade 3, $150,000 Toboggan Stakes at Ozone Park in New York on 4 February.
It is an opportunity for Bruce Brown to try the New York bred Dr Disco in open company and that is the reason why the trainer has considered the Fall Highweight for his colt ignoring the Thanksgiving Day on the main track because Dr Disco has done exceptionally
well on inner track.
Not being received much of a weight break, Dr Disco has been running fast and hard on those inner tracks with 4 for 5.
“He really excels on the inner track, with his speed and tight turns he just hugs the rail,” Brown said.
Another of Borwn’s trainee, Compliance Officer, is going to go on vacation at Ocala Stud in Florida for 2 months after exiting a victory in the Claiming Crown Emerald.
In the 2012, Compliance Officer will be pointed toward the Kingston Stakes which take place in May at Belmont Park, where he will get the opportunity to dwell into open company somewhere around next summer.
“I was glad to see the Breeders’ Cup didn’t take too much out of him,” Brown said. “We ran him back kind of quick and threw him to the wolves, and it was good to see him return to his form.”
If Dr Disco goes on to win the Toboggan Stakes then he will pick up his fifth win of the season with four placed finishes for the 2011 season.
