Dr Irv eager to make second Redcar trip successful
Having struggling badly in 10 races, the Kate Walton trained chestnut gelding, Dr Irv, managed to break his maiden in his first Redcar trip during the last month. Considering this, it sounds quite logical to claim that the veteran sprinter will again achieve
a triumph at this venue when he runs the Hold Your Christmas Party @ Redcar Racecourse Handicap on September 11.
Some sport experts opine that good to firm surfaces suit well to the horse’s racing technique. Thus, we can expect that he will have great time over 1 mile, 6 furlongs and 19 yards while running alongside 15 rivals. The class 6 race has £1,704 to give to
the one who wins.
Dr Irv performed marvellously in his last visit to Redcar. That was the Ladies' & Gents' Evening 25th August Handicap (Div II), held on August 11. Despite being a non-favourite runner, he managed the ground well and beat Hi Dancer by 2 ½ lengths to finish
first.
On the basis of this impressive performance, the punters granted him the highest odds for the next race named as Nottingham Racecourse Black & White Christmas Party Handicap. But this time, the son of Dr Fong out of Grateful could not perform up to the mark,
hence, finished 4th against 10 rivals.
At Redcar today, Dr Irv will demonstrate a convincing performance again to prove that he is invincible over there. However, he will have to face some resistance from Jawaab who is awash with momentum after winning the Freebets.com Handicap on September 10.
This fresh form will help the Philip Kirby trained chestnut gelding to run well today. Prior to the yesterday’s victory, the veteran Irish horse finished as the runner-up in the Book Hospitality At Wolverhampton Racecourse Handicap that was held on September
3.
On August 8, the son of King’s Best out of Canis Star stood third in the Worthington Handicap, held at Newcastle.
These three decent performances reveal that Jawaab possesses great talent, thus, he can prove to be fatal for Dr Irv.
The sport fans are looking forward for a rip-roaring battle between the two mighty geldings. Good luck to the both.
