Dr Pepper stain help!?

Will it leave a stain?

If it does how do I remove it?

I just heard about this trick.  Moisten cotton balls and place them over the stain.  Put a white towel on top of the cotton balls.  Use an iron and rub it over the towel.  Hit the steam button a few times.  Lift the towel and check the cotton balls.  You should see the Dr. Pepper seeping into them.  Keep repeating with fresh cotton balls until the stain is gone.

I hope this works.  My girlfriend said it removed red pop from her carpet.

Pre-treat it with oxi-clean, shout, resolve, or any type of stain

remover and wash as usual.
