Dr Phibes confident about the Arnold Clark Jeep Chrysler Nursery
Even though small, but a highly competitive field has pulled together for the Class 2 Arnold Clark Jeep Chrysler Nursery. Five two-year-old will prove themselves further over the mile distance on Friday, 19th October at Haydock. The most interesting thing which will make the race truly worthwhile is the fact that four out of the five contestants have been successful the last time that they raced.
One of the most consistent entries is the two-year-old chestnut gelding, Dr Phibes. He started racing just this season, and has accumulated quite reasonable experience through the seven career outings. The worst that he ever raced was in his career debut, the damage gradually came down to the fourth position as the worse one.
Four second scores and a success account for all the races he has been a part of.
After getting blown off by the fourth position, the Alan Swinbank trained qualified as the runner-up of the thirskracecourse.net Nursery on 18th September, 2012 at Thirsk race course over seven furlongs.
Dr Phibes was entered as the favourite and was paired with jockey, Robert Winston, and the two had to let go of the chance by the almost negligible margin of ¾ of a length.
The race was won by, Greeleys Love, who had Phillip Makin onboard.
Coming at terms with the third position was, Brazilian Clown.
Dr Fong’s chestnut gelding out of, Garra Molly, posted in the first career success and that too when he was entered as the evening’s favourite.
The Irish chestnut gelding won the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden Stakes on 30th September, 2012 at Musselburgh race course over seven furlongs.
Riding with jockey, Robert Winston, he got on to tracking the leaders, and was soon successful in drawing clear. Having the final furlong all to himself, the two-year-old defeated Gabrial’s Wawa by 3 ¾ lengths.
Taking refuge in the third position was, Eric The Grey.
The 11 to 4 shot for the race is all set to race with the same jockey, as the duo will take flight from the third stall.
Winning this one will be a tricky affair if he becomes relaxed with the performance level.
