  1. Depends.  If it is a physical that is required to be a full physical for school activities it may depend but really there is no reason to do a complete pelvic and breast exam at 13 unless you are sexually active and you can even have your mom go back with you or another adult if you don't feel comfortable going back alone.

  2. Yes, they should respect your wishes. If you are concerned that you might not be able to stand up to them, talk to your mom and ask her to stay with you.

I believe that as a minor you have a right to have a parent or guardian in there with you if you want, unless they suspect abuse (I'm not sure about this in terms of the law, but I've never had a problem with wanting my mom in the room, nor have I had any problems with the doctors not respecting my wishes in regards to pelvic and breast exams).

Good luck, and I know it can be nervewracking. If you are really nervous, you can call your doctor and ask for an overview of what will be happening at the physical. I can't guarantee that you'll get an answer, but I can't see any logical reason why your doctor would be unwilling.

  3. yes, they will respect your wishes. A DR can not do anything you say no to. Besides that, they will take your blood pressure, listen to your heart...normal stuff
