Dr.seuss: what was his childhood dream?

so does anyone know what was dr.seuss childhood dream as in what did he want to become when he grew up. And how is he an accomplished children's author.

All Wikipedia talks about is the fact that he grew up in a National Park near a zoo and that his father, and grandfather, were both brew masters. It would stand to reason that a part of him wanted to work with animals (which he drew frequently) and wanted to drink a lot (which got him kicked out of school). I don't know if that's exactly true, but it definitely stands to reason.
