Dracula 2000?

Question

what happens to gerard butler [dracula] at the end of the movie. i couldn't finish it. does he die or live?

Well this is a spoiler so don't be disappointed...............................

This all happens after all the three brides are killed.

Mary ends up tying a rope; that was apart of a large lit up crucifixion on top of a building; over Dracula's neck and she pulls herself along with Dracula jump over the building edge, thus hanging Dracula. Mary hangs on to Dracula's hand, but he lets go making her fall on the ground below and into unconsciousness but Mary wakes up a few seconds later. The sun comes up and Dracula is unable to get free; so he burns to death.  The movie says that they moved Dracula's body into a coffin and locked him into the vault. See the sequels for more....

While not a very good movie, I have to say the ending had an original twist on the Vampire/Dracula mythos that made a lot of sense and I enjoyed.  

Turns out Dracula is Judas of Iscariot and Vampirism is his punishment for betraying Christ.  That's why he has an aversion to crosses (the guilt) and silver (he was paid in silver by the Romans).
