I am in a 12 team keeper league. We keep 2 offensive players. Most studs are being kept. I have Brandon Marshall and Marion Barber as my keepers. Would it be unwise to pull a shocker and grab Jay Cutler in round one pick 9? I have pick 9 and figure the 2 or 3 stud RB's will be gone and I could still get a good RB in round 2 and decent WR in round 3. What do you guys think. My gut just says that Cutler is in for a big year. Thanks!

  1. Depends what other QB's are available..if your depending on Cutler to lead you to the championship..you might be a hurting this year.

  2. I wouldn't do it. QB-WR combos are attractive but can really backfire too. If the RBs and DEF score all the points for Denver in a given week - you are screwed. I always like to go for the QB RB combo myself.

Secondly, if there are 24 keepers, and you are picking 9th, you basically have the 33 pick. There is no way that Cutler is that high of a draft pick. The earliest he would go is the 6th round and that is a reach. That would put him in the 70s - you should be able to get him in your 3rd or 4th round.

I would just pick up the best player available regardless of the position.

  3. Are you smoking crack??? Cutler may be in for a good year, but there should be plenty better options to take in round 1 pick 9...even if its technically round 3 pick 9 due to the keepers. Cutler will be there in round 3 for you I bet...if not, tag JamRuss or someone....I think your crazy if you take him first....may as well take Joe Montana

  4. that's not a bad Idea.... Go for it
