Question:

Dragon Goby doesn't swim around the tank?

I've had a Dragon Goby for 6 months and he seems to be doing well. He knows when I've put food in and comes out to eat and does move around outside his cave area. I just hear of other Dragon Gobies swimming to the top or being on the side of the tank upright. I've never seen mine do either of those things. He doesn't seem to be much of a swimmer. Is this unusual?

He is in brackish water, 76 degrees, with some platies and mollies.

  1. Your goby is doing just fine.  I have one and they like to stay low to the bottom, sifting the sand and retreating to it's burrow when spooked.  My dragon goby rarely swims around the top (or the middle) unless he was denied food at feeding time at the last feeding time.  I hope that helped.  Happy fish keeping!

  2. Make sure that you have good water stability, check your water on pH, salinity and other heavy metals, ok?
