Alright, well, I'm taking a Drama class in high school once school starts again. I am really into acting and I like to have fun with acting. Although I am a bit worried, I want to do my best, and I want to act funny, and make the scenes look good, but im afraid if I do that its going to be weird and people in the class or crowd may not like it. Tips and help? Thanks.

  1. You should be better than anyone!!Do that!

  2. you shouldn't worry  about it. i have been in drama classes for a while now and ppl always love the person who is hilarious and he is a good actor. if you are truly funny then no one will look at you like your weird. they will try to be like you, especially if you are a really good actor.

    good luck! :)

  3. well i am a DQ lol and i have been in over 5 plays! um... i am a middle school kid and i plan on doing it next year for my freshman year! just try to imagine being the actor or character! I love acting and just focus!

  4. just be yourself.

  5. One of the first things you'll learn in a high school Drama class is that acting isn't primarily about getting up in front of people and being funny. It's about learning to use your body and your voice and intelligence to portray characters, teaming up with your classmates to rehearse and perform scenes, learning to pretend on an adult and creative level so that an audience will believe in your characters and the scenes being performed.

There are lots of opportunities for playing comedy, improvising off the top of your head, learning the art of clowning, as well as discovering ways to reaching inside yourself to find the truth in tragedy, serious drama, and expression.

The cool thing about it is that it's a learning and growing process for everyone taking the class. Everyone seems to go into their first Drama class with different expectations. Together, they can discover what the magical art of acting is really about.

It's an experience and a challenge I'd recommend to anyone.

  6. I teach 9-12 Drama at one of my local high schools.  The way I start my class every year is: "If you're trying to hard, then the scene will fail."  You have to be yourself, and try not to over analize everything.  Try doing some improv while acting, and it is VERY normal to think, everyone else is around you is better at acting than you...NOT TRUE.  You will be the one critisizing yourself the most.  Have fun! (thats the second thing I say at the beginning of the year).

  7. If it is something you truely enjoy, then don't let anyone else take that away from you. If they don't like it, they will have to learn to just get over it. And one day, when you're famous and they idolize you, they'll regret ever trying to take it away from you. ^.^

  8. DONT THINK OF BEING FUNNY

then you will end up being funny!!!

also play some improvisation games to help enhance your comedic timing and delivery

improvisation games are great fun and whose line is it anyway offers some great examples

message me if you want any help with games!! :-) x*x

  9. just start out small and see how people react, if you enjoy acting, you should enjoy playing to your audience.  Give your class a show they want that you can still have fun doing. And uf your not having fun, dont worry what your class thinks, just do whatever makes you happy
