Interestingly, the 24-year-old batsman has just played in just nine first-class matches since his debut in March 2009.
Despite the fact that he performed superbly on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
Yet, Ponting’s departure due to family engagements gave him the opportunity to join the Test crew. Although http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SE-Marsh-c2470 will earn the place in the final playing XI for the second Test, starting from Thursday, Warner’s presence in the squad is not only a
matter a pride for himself but for his fans as well.
Warner shared that he always looks to concentrate on every format of the game and it is unfair to term him as only a Twenty20 specialist. Due to his sudden inclusion in the national set-up, the blistering left-hander will not be able to represent his domestic
side in the first Twenty20 of the NSW’s Sheffield Shield season.
“I know we’ve got two Twenty20s in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Australia-c844 that if I get picked for that I’ll miss the first Shield game,” said Warner, who emerged as Australia’s highest run-getter in the recent couple of Twenty20s against Sri Lanka.
He also hoped to earn a place in the NSW side for the longest form of domestic cricket, saying that he will try to push local selectors to consider him by performing well in each version of the game.
“I’ve just got to keep scoring runs in any form that I’m playing, and showing that I’m in form. If they think I’ve done enough at the end of last season and they take the form I had into consideration that I had with Australia A as well, it’s up to them,”
added the aggressive batsman who holds a strike rate of 144.32 in Twenty20 Internationals.
