Dravid is irreplaceable: BCCI– Cricket News update
The Board for Control of Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Srinivasan-c90829 made these remarks at the press conference in Bangalore where the former Indian great announced
his retirement from International cricket.
Dravid, aged 39, is one of the finest Test cricketers India has ever produced. With 164 Test matches under his belt, he has scored 36 centuries at an average of 52.31. His unique and effective batting style had earned him the nickname: “The Wall”.
"He is actually irreplaceable, none of us want to see such players go away, we like to think they are permanent ,it is not easy to step away when you're still playing well”: remarked Srinivasan while honouring Rahul. He further thanked him for his contributions
to his country, which helped his team achieve stability in the longer version.

Nonetheless, his contributions can be gauged by extraordinary fitness levels he kept, which allowed him to play 93 successive Tests after making his first appearance in 1996.

The departure of the 39-year-old may also force the other senior players to call it a day, allowing youngsters to set a new platform for the under firing Men in Blue.
