of the UK championship. Another interesting match will see Marco Fu taking on ‘The Rocket’, Ronnie O’Sullivan.
Two former world champions, Peter Ebdon and the legendary Steve Davis will also get a taste of this brand new format, while Ali Carter and Jimmy White will find themselves in in another big match of the first round.
Format – the World Snooker Shoot-Out is a non-ranking event with the format of the matches consisting of just one knockout frame.
Each match will be 10 minutes long; a shot clock of 20 seconds will be set for the first 5 minutes, and 15 seconds for the latter half. The shot clock will allow each player to take 20 seconds before going for a shot, and only
15 in the last five minutes of the game. The tournament will prove to be a 'pot fest' with such a format.
