Draws announced for 2012 Six-Red Snooker Championship – Snooker Update
First week of this July will bring a twist in the new snooker season as the 2012 Six-Red Snooker Championship draws have been announced. The top dogs of the game will be present at the Montien Riverside Hotel to battle for the ultimate glory of six-red adventure.
The tournament will commence from July 2 and will conclude on July 7.
This year’s Six-Red event will be featuring big names in the line-up. The list is all set for the start of the tournament where 48 potters from around the world, including 11 players from the Top 16, will play for the total prize money of 6-million-baht.
Six Thai potters have also been give a chance by the Thailand’s snooker governing body so that they can improve their game playing among the leading potters.
The participants have been divided into eight groups containing six potters each. The first group of the line-up has the likes of World Number one Mark Selby and Dominic Dale who are in a strong position to unsettle the rest of the participants in the group.
The winner of the 2011 UK Championship, England’s Judd Trump has been placed in the second group along with the winner of 2012 Snooker Shootout Barry Hawkins, the African Champion Mohamed Khairy and the youngster Nick Jennings.
The third group is the toughest one as it contains, the former two-time World Snooker Champion Mark Williams, the former Champ and 2012 China Open winner Peter Ebdon, former Champ Ken Doherty and Asian Snooker Champion Aditya Mehta.
