The Fulham boss claims that consecutive draws in the Premier League could come back to haunt his side in May, if things continue going like this in the next few months.
Martin Jol has done an impeccable http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 at Craven Cottage in the last season or so, but the tactician can’t really change his team’s performance on the pitch, which have often suffered this term.
With influential stars Clint Dempsey and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Moussa-Dembélé-c26923 choosing to join Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, Jol was lifted with little options as he tried to shore up the middle of the park.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Rodallega-c16414 are one deadly combination up-front, but even the duo failed to inspire the Cottagers against their London rivals and the 3-0 end result was there for all to see.
The Dutch tactician seems to have taken the scoreline to heart and claims that if things continue going like this in the future, his team could be facing a spot in the relegation battle that could potentially cost them their Premier League status.
Speaking to reporters, the former Ajax coach said that seven draws in England’s top flight for Fulham was an unacceptable figure and that there were times in such games when they could have churned out victory instead of settling for a share of the spoils,
however they failed to do so when required.
"We've had seven draws. That is too much - you need wins to get the points on the board. We had a lot of games - Reading, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 - where we could have nicked it and we didn't,” said Jol while speaking to the media.
Continuing, he added that while their defence was struggling to cope at the moment, the attack had also fallen along the same lines and needed to improve quickly in order to shake up Fulham’s ranking in the points table.
"We concede quite a few goals but, normally, if you score a lot, you can score four and concede three. But this was not the scenario, [though] in the first 57 minutes, we played well,” the trainer was quoted as saying according to the press.
