Draws for Primus Telecom Puppy Derby semi-finals announced 
The draws for Thursday’s semi-finals of the Primus Telecom Puppy Derby have been announced.
There will be three high-voltage semi-finals, and the most favourite hound for the title, Coolavanny Bert, is a part of the third eliminator.
Following is the schedule of the three exciting contests which will take place on Thursday, February 2, 2012.
1st Semi-final: 1 Droopys Edmond, 2 Bridge Bandit, 3 Millwards Boom, 4 Penrhiw Guto, 5 King Bradley (m), 6 Guinness Dusty (w).
2nd Semi-final: 1 Fifis Legend, 2 Pantone Ava, 3 Smart Bid, 4 Benkaat Blue, 5 Borna Dealer, 6 Guinness Kev (m).
3rd Semi-final: 1 Be Real, 2 Doobys Gone West, 3 Coolavanny Bert, 4 Ballymac Jones, 5 Droopys Stevie, 6 Aero Bellagio (m).
With a cash prize of £10,000, the much-anticipated finale of the big battle will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.
The contestants made it to the semis after showing a brilliant performance at Henlow last Thursday, January 26, 2012.
In the opening Heat, Guinness Dusty, trained by S A Cahill, secured the top position. Ballymac Jones finished second on the table, falling three quarters of a length adrift of the winner, who covered the distance in 28.12 seconds.
The second Heat of the PRIMUS TELECOM PUPPY DERBY saw Coolavanny Bert, sealing the first position by a huge margin.
The black dog, Wheres Pedro’s son out of Mercury Queen, defeated Penrhiw Guto, by 5 ½ lengths.
The third race belonged to Fifis Legend, who clocked the area in 27.69 seconds to wrest the first place. The fawn dog was chased by Millwards Boom, who made it to the winning post in 28.02 seconds.
The victory went to Benkaat Blue, in the fourth Heat of the championship. The blue dog covered the area in 28.09 seconds, to beat Smart Bid, by 3 ¾ lengths.
In the fifth Heat, Droopys Stevie upset the favourite, Guinness Kev, to take the victory. The black dog crossed the wire in 27.95 seconds, 1 ¼ lengths ahead of, Aero Bellagio.
The sixth and final Heat of the day saw Bridge Bandit, clinching a surprise win. The black dog defeated Borna Dealer, and the rest, reaching the post in 27.91 seconds.
With such brilliant line-up, the semi-finals are expected to be thrilling events.
