Dreadlocks - revisited?

Question

I got a lot of "no"s to dreadlocks being hot

Is that to say none of you found jack sparrow attractive? He had dreadlocks.

Someone said that they can fall out, can I get a source on that?

According to my sister in law, who is a stylist, dreadlocks are almost always infested with some sort of parasite.. lice or maggots or other things.  They are almost impossible to keep clean (duh- what holds them together is rancid scalp oil)

They may look cool... but explain to me how having lice can be s**y.....EWWWW  She also says they smell.  REALLY REALLY smell, enough that some of the girls in her salon have had to excuse themselves to the bathroom to vomit.

I think their hot, but I can't say that I haven't ever been really close to somebody with dreadlocks. I wanted dreadlocks for the longest time, but my parents won't let me for the same reasons "Mommy2sq.." listed.
