Dream Walker hot favourite for Yorkshire Racing Summer Festival Handicap (Div II)
Dream Walker has got a solid chance of prevailing in the Yorkshire Racing Summer Festival Handicap (Div II) at Catterick in England on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Things will not be easy for him though, as he will have to battle out against 11 other runners
in order to claim the cash prize of £2,045.
The class-6 event will definitely provide some thrilling action to the spectators, as the overall distance to cover for the runners will be 7 furlongs. Furthermore, the going will be soft because of rain and there are more showers expected before the start
of action at Catterick.
There are some decent challengers lined up for action today, but the conditions will not suit most of them. Due to this, some names might be withdrawn from the list before the start of race at 16:50 GMT.
However, the soft ground will not trouble Dream Walker, who has performed well in such conditions in the past as well. In fact, his team would be hoping for more rain, as the heavier conditions will make a victory almost certain for him.
The three-year-old gelding brought up his only victory in the sport on a heavy ground at Yarmouth in May this year. This was his first race of the 2012 season and the bookies had priced him 25 to 1.
The Ian McInnes’ trainee was extremely quick back then and no one was even able to challenge him at the front, as he managed to extend his lead to six lengths before crossing the finish line.
Prior to his maiden victory in the sport, the French bred was unable to get the attention of anyone, as he struggled at the start of his career. He took part in three races last year and was unable to impress in any of them.
However, things turned around dramatically for Gold Away’s son out of Minnie´s Mystery in the 2012 season. His victory gave him plenty of confidence and he has been delivering consistent results since then.
He followed his winning run by a third place and then scored a couple of back to back runner up finishes, which shows the kind of form he is in at the moment. It will definitely be difficult to stop him under jockey, Patrick Mathers.
