Question:

Dream about a family of burglars trying to break into house?

My boyfriend woke up annoyed yesterday after he dreamt this:

He said we were housesitting his grandparents home. (they live 4 hours away).

A family of 4, two parents and two young children were breaking in to the house.

I wanted to take them in because I pitied that they were reduced to this.

He was cranky that I would want to do such a thing. They were burglars!

We then took them to my mother's house so she could take them in. (in real life my parents always have someone spongeing off them)

Back in the dream everyone was arguing with him because he disagreed with taking these people in.

Thank you!

  1. I have some experience with these kind of dreams.  What I have found is that when I dream someone is breaking into my place, what makes the difference in who I meet on the other side of the door, is a product of my state of mind.  If I'm feeling fearful, it will ALWAYS be a burglar, a monster, or somesuch.  If I'm feeling adventurous or bold or even call out someone's name, it could be an altogether more pleasant encounter.

Regardless, what I've also put together about these dreams is that it is a message: your subconscious is trying to tell you something.  It is trying to "break in" to your conscious mind.  The dreamer may become aware of something that he had not known before.  Sometimes the realisation is not pleasant, but it is something that was not consciously known before, becoming known.  I feel dreams like this can be a harbinger of some higher realisation.

  2. Just read The Dream Game by Ann Faraday and you'll easily be able to figure your dreams out for yourself. It's not wise to depend on the interpretations of others since they aren't you and your dreams depend solely on how you perceive things.

  3. Wow..this is a sign that a good fortune / opportunity is invading into your house despite of your disagreements. Good luck..is just a matter of time :)
