Dream about being diagnosed with cancer - - dream interpreters, please help?

Question

Last night, I dreamed that I was in a doctor's office, and McClean Stevenson (one of the doctors from the 1970s television show M.A.S.H.) was my doctor. I sat in the examining room, and he told me that I had esophageal cancer and cancer of the stomach, and that I needed to begin chemotherapy soon. Surprised and shocked, I asked, "How do you know? Shouldn't I have an x-ray done first?" Then he said to me, "Well, you can - - but I already know what it is."

Then, he showed me a scrapbook full of pictures of famous or talented women singers who had successfully underwent the proceedure, and they were able to resume their careers as singers.

In real life, I do not (at least, not that I know of) have cancer. I don't smoke, and no one I know has cancer, especially of this kind.

What in the heck does this dream really mean? Should I be concerned?

Cancer = terminal disease, things you feel disappointed, hopeless or failure.

You may be feeling helpless about certain things in life. Projecting having cancer in dream symbolize hardship you may have. You may have difficulties handling certain things in life. So, you projected cancer and it reflects the failure and give-up in you.  

Examine lately and see if things you can't get through because of low confidence and you will find out what triggered the dream.

Of course, if you lately have watched TV or movie about hospital, cancer, etc, that will reflect in the dream and it will merely mean play back of your day time media experience.

Are you peruvian/latin? coz of your name lol. And im not sure if you should be concerned because dreams can mean anything - but i would just go and get checked- it woulnt hurt to just make sure. It may mean you are probably worried of geetin caner or dying or something, but i belive theres a truth behind every dream so just go get cheked.

Cancer signifies a "eating away" or "festering" pf something. Cancer tends to feed off or grow on negativity. Could it be possible that something is bugging you or making you extrememly worried, almost like its a "cancer"?

When I have health dreams, I take them very seriously.  I believe that our subconscious knows all that is happening to us.  While I would NEVER read on a health issue, for I am not a medical intuitive, this dream is telling you to be concerned and get checked out. It was very specific.  If I were you, I would go to a doctor ASAP.

I am a little concerned that the doctor is your dream was not Hawkeye Pierce or Trapper John or BJ Hunnicutt.  As I recall, McClain Stevenson's character was a bumbling person.  Do you trust your personal care physician?  Definitely seek out the best.  Don't leave this in the hands of just anyone.  Get a second opinion.

On a purely symbolic level, esophageal cancer would be symbolic of one not speaking his truth; stomach cancer would mean there are things around you you cannot stomach.  But as I have said before, I believe this is a prodding dream to get medical attention.

For understanding this dream it's important to understand how dreaming-you felt about the cancer, what you thought of Henry Blake and what the over-all mood of the dream was at each part. Also, are you a singer? ...are you a man or woman?

How did you feel about the dream cancer? ...fear, anxiety, being eaten away from within, having the plug pulled on your plans, becoming apart from other people, a problem you can’t run from or just a complication.

The doctors comments are interesting  ...they suggest someone has presumed something about you, has taken away your control, is not taking your concerns seriously, is not giving you enough information or is patronising you with their greater(?) knowledge

McLean Stevenson's character on MASH is an alarming choice for the role of your Doctor ...goofy, bumbling, smug, lazy, alcoholic and very hard to respect

...if this were a dream about work, I would say that you're not being supported by someone who is your senior or someone you depend on to get a project finished, that they’re undermining you in some way ...feels like something you need to achieve has become tangled up with complications

The strangest bit for me is the scrapbook ...it's like your subconscious is trying to calm or reassure you by solving the problem. It can also work as real life reassurance ...Maybe your subconscious is telling you to wind back the anxiety level and see things as solvable. Maybe it's telling you that difficulties will pass if you move forward. It also occurs to me that you might feel a comparison is being made between you and these talented singers like "they got over it, why can't you?"

Having said all this, it's also quite possible that a physical pain or discomfort is causing this dream ...not necessarily cancer but even other things like reflux while your asleep or asthma ...a bit like when you dream you're outside in winter in only a shirt and you wake to find all the bedding on the floor

Lets hope it was as simple as you ate too much, watched too many late night re-runs of MASH and went to sleep listening to Diva Night  on the radio (c;
