Question:

Dream being late to school

I've been having this dream about being late to school for about 3 months. In my dream I'm supposed to get to school by 3pm but I'm still home at 2:50 getting ready, and I never get to school on time. Sometimes it looks more like the university, sometimes I can't find my classroom. What does it mean??

  1. Your dream suggests that there is some frustration or pressure about something unwanted in your life that is nagging at you.

This could relate to job, family, finances, home responsibilities - anything of that sort.  You might even feel a bit on 'display' in the matter and sense that you are meeting performance expectations in some potentially visible way.  There may be some reluctance on your part about whatever responsibiities may relate to the matter.

Old school days is a common stage for this sort of dreamt expression - although it is the modern 'us' that normally appears in the 'old' setting.  The school may be familiar but some part of your state of being in the dream while there now may be quite different from the past.  For instance, you may have been quite punctual in your attendance - but never cared much for having to be there.  That can tie to your existence today and a cord is struck - a common emotion regarding duty, expectation or some performance attribute may cut across your natural grain and place you back there to 'do it all again' and to suffer failure in the way that you describe.

Look about you to see if there is something in your world now that pulls at you this way - something you don't care for but must do, and therefore reluctantly stick with.  It could also be something that interferes with your chances for success as well - and some feeling buried in the experience then may relate to a similar feeling in school.  Tardiness is a wonderful manifestation for the friction.

Why tardiness?  It's visible - it often relates to a subtle waking feeling of wearing a 'sandwich board' about some difficulty in life and the attending stress or frustration.  Tardiness is a wonderful dreaming event by which to manifest regret, express doubt or to privately affirm to one's self that something expected of you or done to please others is really not your cup of tea.  The trick is to look hard at the recalled dream - and at life about you at the same time to find the commonality.

Anxiety is normally present at some level in these dreams.  Mind-synthesized tardiness, even where one never had the habit, is a great tool for accenting internal disagreement or trepidation and therefore bringing a disagreeable thing in your life to the fore to be acknowledged and dealt with.  In short, what has happened in your life in the last 3 months that drives these feelings?  In that context you will find the key - and the dream forces the issue that you might see it and find relief from it.

    All the best to you.

  2. Try to relax, are you stressed about going into college? Do you depend on someone to take you to school? Maybe try to set up a clock alarm (cellphone or so). I set up two alarms in the morning so I make sure i get up on time and it makes me to go to bed relaxed because I know I can rest without thinking I will be late.

    Good luck

  3. That you feel your life is out of control and you feel you can't do anything about it without effecting your future quite dramatically

  4. i do the 2 alarm thing too and it helps me sleep better , you are just stressed about the pressure of school , i have the same problem about going to work

  5. It's one of a natural dream people get. Even when you already graduated or currently going to school. It's just the subconscious yearning to learn more or you wanting to learn more. It also could be that there's some concern about forgetting what you have learned. It could also mean that being late is just another way of concerning yourself if you have learned all you needed -  that you are afraid you might miss something. Certain people need to constantly learn, and those are the who usually gets those kind of dreams. I still have those dreams - usually when my brain is on idle for awhile.
