“Dream come true” for Mertesacker
The German midfielder Per Mertesacker proclaims that signing for the North London club has been his boyhood dream. Despite being only 26 years old, the German star has 75 caps for the German national team and this simply proves that he is an extraordinary
defender.

departments of the outfield – defence, midfield and attack.

him as he is now finally a part of a club which he supported since childhood.
He said:
"I think Arsenal had been watching me for a while and had intended to sign me for a while. It was a strange situation for me because it was not clear for a long time what would happen and it dragged out to the very end. After the medical in London [on Tuesday],
it took until late on deadline day and I was unsure it would work out, but then I was delighted in the end. It is a dream come true."
Mertesacker is now going to be joining the North London side as they continue their hunt to remain in the Premier League top four.
