I had this dream where I was fighting with my brother and he started snapping the bones around my pelvic and upper leg area. I wad in incredible pain and I was telling my brother to stop but he wouldn't. I woke up in the middle of the night and I was still feeling the pain for at least another 20 seconds then it went away.

The next day I found out that my friends dad had a car accident the night I had the dream and that he had broken his hip and leg!

I'm sure that my dream had a connection. What would you call this sort of thing? My dad also had a similiar experience happen to him.

  1. Complete coincidence. The only thing similar between real life and your dream was the areas of the body afflicted. If your dream actually came to pass, then I'd say there was a definite connection.

  2. This is just a coincidence.  Have you heard of coincidences?

    .

  3. It's called clairsentience or feeling something clairvoyantly

  4. Have to be honest with you.Nothing there but an interesting coincidence. You'll need much more evidence then that. For most of us to see a connection.

  5. Precognitive dreaming.

    Main Entry: pre·cog·ni·tion

    Pronunciation: "prE-(")käg-'ni-sh&n

    Function: noun

Etymology: Late Latin praecognition-, praecognitio, from Latin praecognoscere to know beforehand, from prae- + cognoscere to know -- more at COGNITION

: clairvoyance relating to an event or state not yet experienced

  6. What exactly is the coincidence? In your dream, you were being hurt. In your reality, your friend's dad was hurt. I don't see the connection.

  7. It is possible that you made a clairvoyant or empathetic connection to your friend while you were sleeping.  You interpreted this information as if it were occurring to you, and so, your dream was modified to incorporate this information.

There are different aspects to successfully working with enhanced sensitivity.  First, you need to recognize that you are experiencing something unusual.  Second, you must be able to differentiate whether it is coming from your mind or from an different source.  Third, you must learn to interpret this information that you are receiving.  And forth, you must be able to express what you are experiencing in a way that is useful to yourself and others.

You seem to be aware of your experiences, but because you were dreaming, you interpreted the message and incorporated it into your dream.  If you want to work on this skill, you need to practice when you are awake and try to identify the characteristics of the experience.  It can take quite a bit of practice and time, but, with persistence, you can learn to use this ability.  Good luck!
