Norton was a great boxer who was known for giving other great boxers such as Ali and Holmes fits.

Despite this he had a massive problem with the heavy hitters and many people question his jaw.

Liston could bang with either hand and also had underrated boxing skills.

A lot of people criticize Liston for having bad stamina and a poor chin.

I think Liston would win this one early mainly due to the clash of styles in both fighters. Im going to pick Liston by a 4th rd KO.

liston was a street brawl type and norton was more of a boxer and in better condition...i'm going with norton in a split decision.

Liston by KO, much like the Patterson fight.  I think Ken would have been in over his head and that Liston's power would decide this one rather quickly.

This is fairly easy.  Norton was a "GOOD" champion but never a Great one.  Sonny's reign wasn't great but that was partly due to events outside of boxing and the fact that he had to wait so long for a title shot.  

Norton is a bit overrate due to his win over Ali.  I still maintain that, had Ali never gone into exile, he would have finished Norton in 12.  Norton bulked up for Ali 3 and would have given prime Ali a tougher fight.  He still would have gotten stopped.  Norton didn't take punches so well.  

The other thing to remember is that Kenny FROZE against nearly every puncher he ever faced.  People ask me about him against Tyson.  Tyson would finish him in 3.  Norton was a boxer.  However, he didn't have the foot work to escape a big puncher.  It's only a matter of time before Sonny would blow him away.

Sonny Liston by 1st round KO. Ken Norton can handle the best boxers Ali and Holmes but had trouble against punchers Foreman, Shavers and Cooney. The cross armed defense can sucessfully block jabs but against a puncher who come straight at you, you can't unfold your arms fast enough to counter. Tim Witherspoon who has the same style like Ken Norton got KO in one round by puncher James bonecrusher Smith.

Liston was a Foreman type of fighter. Clubbing jab and power in either hand. Norton was bombed out by George. I think this would be a similar fight to the Norton vs Foreman fight. Liston by Ko early.
