  1. Foreman rocks

He will win in a 2nd round KO.

Cause Ali is better than Khali

  2. This will be like the Sonny Liston vs Cleveland Williams first fight but in reverse. Both throwing bomb until the bigger man George win by 5th round KO.

  3. Foreman KO's Liston in 5.

George will use his height, power and superior reach to batter Liston.   Pretty one-sided except Liston lands a good punch early in Round 3 and starts a mini-comeback during that round.  Foreman stabilizes things late in that round with a nice inside uppercut and takes over from there.

KO in 5 for Mr. George Foreman!!

    Good question.  Thanks!

  4. I pick Foreman to win by KO or TKO within 5 rounds but Liston shakes him a few times in the early rounds.

  5. GEORGE FOREMAN.

  6. i too pick foreman to win between rounds 5 & 7, but liston is dangerous 'till the end and always has a punchers chance.

  7. Finally you asked an easy one, they may have been two of the heavyweights heaviest hitters, but Big George was much more of a ring technician.  Sonny might have bullied and intimidated most of his opponents, and Liston did have a good jab to set up his power shots but it wouldn't have worked with Forman.   George would have out boxed and out punched Sonny, and even though it would have made Forman/Lyle look tame by comparison, Forman would have eventually taken Liston.

    George by KO.

  8. personally I think Liston would have been more than a match for the bully foreman and Liston would not have rolled over like most of Foreman's 'opponent's never rated him and I know like most bullies Foreman was essentially a coward with little real boxing ability,For a big guy Liston was very agile and tremendously powerful and I think would have out witted the not so bright Foreman and slipped his heavy punches until midway he'd have gone into Foreman and sparked him clean out,Ive videos of both these geezers best fifgts and believe Liston ko Foreman rnd 10.

  9. I pick Liston by KO in 7.

Put these two back in their primes and make some “adjustments” to their records.

Sonny was a devastating puncher with a great left jab.  He won a lot of fights by decision, which shows he had good boxing skills, not that he lacked punching power.  Foreman was a strong puncher and also had a great jab.   I don't rate him a great puncher because he looped his punches.

Don't forget that Foreman had to put Frazier on the floor seven times to win by a TKO in their first fight.  That does not suggest a true dynamite puncher.

    I pick Liston because:

Sonny had the stamina George lacked. Liston could go the distance if necessary (it seldom was) while George started to show fatigue after five or six rounds.

Sonny had a granite chin.  George's chin was not as strong.  Sonny took Cleveland Williams' best punch and, they say, hardly blinked.  Ron Lyle nailed George and put him on the canvas.

The bottom line here is that Sonny was the better boxer of the two, he hit at least as hard if not harder, he had a better chin, and he had more stamina.

  10. George Foreman supposedly has the hardest punch of any of the heavyweight boxers.  It would be hard to bet against him.  But, I remember Sonny Liston.  He was a holy terror in his day.  By the time he fought Cassius Clay, he was up there in years.  With George on the ticket, I do not think it would last 15 rounds and George would win.
