i had a dream of me and my ex.. we were together for 7 months and would have been together for one year in june.

well this was what happened:

we went out somewhere and all of sudden he hugs me, holds onto me so tight, his crying and his like *im so sorry about everything*

what does this mean?

It may seem that the words coming out from him. However, it is coming from your subconscious mind.

You are feeling the need for this attention.  And so, you projected him crying seeking for your understanding and forgiveness.   That hints that there is something you feel not right about him in reality.  It may be a trust issue.  Since this is your ex, that may suggest that you have some regret about the break up and that is you had this dream vent out.
