I am devoted into praticsing almost everyday in the summer, I'm 14 years old and i can drive the ball around 255 - 260 (smooth swing, i can go up to 280 if i want to). My handicap is 11 and my factor is 10.0. Can i make the PGA? It's my dream.

  1. Always possible, but the reality is always a long shot.  Keep working on it.  The fun part is getting there, the second most fun is staying there (at the top, that is)

  2. Why do so many people on here want to ask complete strangers if "they can" be something???

C'Mon bro, that answer is inside of you.  Could you tell me based on some test score or aptitude if I could be the next President or a Doctor?  Only I can find that out.

The PGA tour is composed of the best 150 golfers in the world, and every one of them shared your dream at 14.  The 150 that made it combined God given talent with extremely hard work and long hours on the practice tee's and greens.  It's up to you if you think you can go above and beyond.  No-One here has that answer.

  3. yes u could

  4. Why not.

  5. The most important skill in the PGA is not golf. It's the ability to handle the pressure of playing in competition.

There are a lot of players who have enormous amounts of talent but don't make it to the tour because they can't play under pressure.

    Start playing some amateur tournaments.

If you do well in the tournaments, then maybe you'll have a chance to make it to the tour.

  6. Can you make it to the PGA?  Probably.  I would suggest that you start tracking fairways hit, Greens in regulation, and putts per whole.   Concentrate on your short game.   While the driving distance is an ok stat......(overrated in my opinion)  The above are a more telling status of your game

  7. maybe, but not unless you get that handicap down to 0.  The golfers on tour are below scratch golfers.  You have to shoot consistantly in the mid 60's, from the very back tees, on difficult greens, in all playing conditions from different courses.  You are a VERY long way from thinking about pro.  Maybe, possibly, q school or the nationwide tour, not the pga tour.  .
