Question:

Dream of my late Father?

Can anyone please help interpret this dream for me?

I had a dream last night that my dad and I were walking to a resting area on a mountain and I had my arm around his back as a buddy and suggested that we get some pie and the same way I do with this old lady who knew my father and I treat like a grandmother. My dad didn't want to get any pie but instead suggested I drink some of this grape juice that was coming through these little plastic tubes (like the ones they'd connect to him at the hospital and kidney dialysis) and it was this thick purple liquid dripping off the needle point that was in his mouth. I looked at it and I just hugged my dad knowing he was going to pass away, feeling lucky that I got to be with him one more time.

  1. I would see a number of Freudian themes in this dream but I think it would be inappropriate for me to make these type interpretations here.

  2. I think this is about acceptance. there doesn't have to be any particular event that makes us come to terms with a loss, but our loved ones  do try and help us to feel at ease about their passing. I suspect you met with your father in your dreamtime so he could let you feel his love for you. When our body sleeps our rational mind  is at rest and our feelings and emotions are heightened, that enables our loved ones who have passed to make contact with us.

  3. Ok.

    1. You know you are going to be challenged to climb over some hills (hence, the mountain)

    2. Arm around the back for support (you know about the illness)

    3. Pie (you do not want to change what you always do)

    4. Tubes and grape juice (just memories of the hospitilization)

    5. And you knew he was going to pass away

    IDK that sounds pretty complicated
